Senior Hero Project Presentation

Follow the directions given to the letter. You will be presenting to a board of adults who expect mature, well dressed, well rehearsed young men and women.

• This presentation brings your high school career full circle. It is a time for you to show your ability to channel your passions into an action that makes a contribution to the community that raised you.

• This presentation should be 8 – 10 minutes in length.

• You should be prepared for a 5 minute question and answer session.

• You MUST be professionally dressed. Follow the “All Dressed Up” handout.

• You will have completed an appointment request form. It is your responsibility to remember the time of your appointment and be present and prepared at your appointed time. Work is not an excuse to miss your boards, you MUST be in attendance. You will be given an incomplete and will not graduate if you do not attend your boards.

• The board will have read your portfolio so you should not just read your paper to them. You should use a conversational but formal tone to introduce your topic and your research, highlight your learning stretch, your purpose and your contribution, and the effect that this has had on you and will continue to have in the future.

• You MUST accompany your speech with a power point presentation that is professional and reflective of your topic. You will not be able to see your power point so you must prepare numbered note cards for the delivery.

• The content of your presentation should be a reflection of your paper. It should include:
- a hook and solid introduction
- a description of your project
- a brief summary of your research findings
- a reflection that emphasizes your learning stretch, your purpose and your community contribution
- a conclusion that reiterates the most important elements of what this project has meant to you.

This presentation is worth 150 points in your English class and 150 points in your Economics class. You do not have to give two presentations.
